Elsevier's QUOSA for iPad app to support professionals in the life sciences

STM publisher Elsevier has announced the launch of QUOSA for iPad® supporting professionals in the life sciences, particularly Medical Affairs and Medical Science Liaisons. The iPad app, a further development of the QUOSA literature management tool, enables Medical Affairs teams and Medical Science Liaisons to access pre-approved and copyright compliant literature, which can be read offline, from a central repository.

China and Japan battle for science lead in dynamic Asia-Pacific region

China and Japan continue to battle for the Asia-Pacific science crown as the region also boosts its contribution to global science, according to the Nature Publishing Index (NPI) 2013 Asia Pacific published as a supplement to Nature. Researchers from the Asia-Pacific contributed 31 percent (1,371) of papers in the 18 Nature-branded research journals in 2013, up from 28 percent (1,009) in 2012.

Prof. Paul Knochel named new editor-in-chief of Thieme chemistry journal SYNTHESIS

Professor Paul Knochel of Ludwig-Maximilians University Munich (LMU) is the new head of the SYNTHESIS editorial board. He takes over the position from Dieter Enders of RWTH Aachen, who will stay on the editorial board of the English-language journal for synthetic chemistry as editor for reviews.

Andrea Remuzzi appointed new Editor-in-Chief of IJAO

Professor Andrea Remuzzi, of the Mario Negri Institute in Bergamo, Italy, has been appointed as the new Editor-in-Chief of The International Journal of Artificial Organs (IJAO), the official journal of the European Society for Artificial Organs (ESAO) and a leading title in the area of bioengineering, tissue engineering and regenerative medicine. IJAO is a monthly peer-reviewed journal, and a proprietary title published since 1977 by Wichtig International.

News Features & Internal Communications and the U.S. City Bureaus Collection - the first two of three planned collections for 2014 in the Associated Press Collections Online program – are now available to researchers.
