Elsevier to publish Energy Institute journal - Journal of the Energy Institute

STM publisher Elsevier has entered into a publishing agreement with the Energy Institute (EI) to publish its official journal, Journal of the Energy Institute. A peer-reviewed quarterly publication first published in 1926, Journal of the Energy Institute is essential reading for academics, researchers and practitioners across the globe engaged in energy and fuel technology. The journal is currently available online on ScienceDirect.

Wiley unveils new OA journal - Nursing Open

Publisher John Wiley & Sons, Inc. has announced the launch of Nursing Open as part of the Wiley Open Access publishing program. The journal is one of the first open access journals to span the entire breadth of the nursing field. Professor Roger Watson, based at the University of Hull, has been appointed Editor alongside a growing list of editorial board members.

Springer campaign to honour women in science

STM publisher Springer has launched a campaign in conjunction with International Women's Day, celebrated on March 8, to honour women in science, and encourage young women to join the scientific community as researchers. The campaign features insightful conversations with more than 40 women editors-in-chief regarding their fields of work and the journals they spearhead.

MSU Library joins SCOAP3, makes research articles freely accessible to all

The Montana State University Library has taken an initiative towards making important physics research more widely accessible. The library recently signed on to participate in Sponsoring Consortium for Open Access Publishing in Particle Physics (SCOAP3), a program that makes peer-reviewed literature on particle physics open to everyone. Individuals who would like to access particle physics articles through SCOAP3's online repository are invited to visit http://repo.scoap3.org/.
