IET and KISTI sign MoU to disseminate scientific information in Korea

The Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) and the Korea Institute of Science and Technology Information (KISTI) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to provide and disseminate scientific information. This strategic alliance will allow 160 KESLI (Korean Electronic Site License Initiative) members in South Korea to benefit from perpetual access to the IET Digital Library Journals Archive, including instant access to over 97,000 articles.

Thieme Publishers open new offices in Rio de Janeiro

Medical and scientific publisher Thieme has expanded its global activities by opening offices on yet another continent: South America. Thieme Publicações LTDA, headquartered in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil, have just published the first Portuguese-language clinical book "Endonasal: Atlas de anatomica cirúrgica".

Elsevier names Dr. Douglas P. Zipes as Editor-in-Chief of Trends in Cardiovascular Medicine

STM publisher Elsevier has announced that Dr. Douglas P. Zipes has been named the new Editor-in-Chief of Trends in Cardiovascular Medicine. Dr. Zipes will succeed Dr. Elizabeth Nabel, who has served as Editor-in-Chief since 2004. Trends in Cardiovascular Medicine provides in-depth state-of-the-art reviews of scientific advances in cardiovascular medicine, written and critiqued by internationally known experts.

First books from IOP Concise Physics collection published

IOP Publishing (IOP), a wholly owned subsidiary of the Institute of Physics, and Morgan & Claypool have published the first books from their IOP Concise Physics collection. IOP Concise Physics is one of two collections from the IOP ebooks programme launched in 2013. They focus on shorter texts that are the "first book" on a topic and that aim to provide a rapid update on a developing area of research, or an introduction to a topic.
