London Book Fair, IPA announce programme details on education conference

Building on the success of the inaugural conference last year, the International Publishers Association (IPA) and The London Book Fair (LBF) have announced the speakers and themes for the second edition of What Works? Successful Education Policies, Resources and Technologies, which will take place on April 10, 2014. This year's line-up includes keynote addresses from Francis Gurry, Director General of WIPO and Pablo Zoido of OECD.

SAGE Reference titles now integrated into Paratext's Reference Universe service

Academic publisher SAGE and Paratext have announced that thousands of additional links to nearly 400 SAGE Reference titles have been integrated into Paratext's Reference Universe service. Paratext's Reference Universe claims to be the only research database that provides both collection-level scope and index-level analysis of Major Reference Works.

IHS and ASM International announce strategic partnership to add premier materials resources to IHS Knowledge Collections

IHS Inc., a global source of critical information and insight, has announced a new strategic partnership that allows IHS to host and resell more than 100 of ASM International's technical books. IFLA submission to EU Copyright Consultation now available online

The International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA) last week submitted a response to the Public Consultation on the Review of EU Copyright Rules. IFLA believes a balanced copyright reform should provide sufficient protections for EU creative industries without restricting essential research and development, and access to information in the public interest.

Academic publisher De Gruyter has announced that Version 4 of the COUNTER Code of Practice for e-Resources has been introduced as standard at De Gruyter Online. COUNTER4 is the current international standard for the creation and distribution of usage statistics for electronic resources such as eBooks, eJournals, and databases.
