Thomson Reuters and Masaryk University collaborate to quantify global research impact

The Intellectual Property & Science business of Thomson Reuters has announced a commitment between Masaryk University and Thomson Reuters to demonstrate the efficiency and global impact of the university's scientific research. The trusted indicators of Thomson Reuters InCites, the company's flagship, web-based research evaluation tool, will enable the institution to measure research output and impact, monitor trends and benchmark its performance against peers at the individual, departmental and global levels.

Health Market Science selects Medi-Span Controlled Substance Files for integration with Prescriber Eligibility solution

Wolters Kluwer Health has announced that its Medi-Span Controlled Substances Drug File has been selected by Health Market Science (HMS) for integration with HMS's Prescriber Eligibility® (PE) solution. The enhanced solution will provide the industry with near real-time validation of prescriptive authority for scheduled drugs at the US state and territory level to reduce the risk of regulatory fines and improve third party reimbursement rates, including Medicaid.

SCOAP3 to begin January 1, 2014

CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research, has announced that the SCOAP3 Open Access publishing initiative will start January 1, 2014. With the support of partners in 24 countries, a vast fraction of scientific articles in the field of High-Energy Physics will become Open Access at no cost for any author: everyone will be able to read them; authors will retain copyright; and generous licenses will enable wide re-use of this information.

IOP Publishing appoints Dr Matthew Salter as new Publishing Manager for Asia Pacific

BIBSYS Consortium opts for Ex Libris Alma

Library automation solutions provider Ex Libris Group has announced that BIBSYS, the Norwegian national provider of library services, has selected the Alma library management service.
