ALA TechSource announces new workshop, Getting Started with Open Access

ALA TechSource has announced a new workshop, Getting Started with Open Access, with Emily Puckett Rodgers and Meredith Kahn. This workshop will last 90 minutes and is scheduled for January 15, 2014 at 2:30 p.m. EST. In this workshop, Emily Puckett Rodgers and Meredith Kahn will provide attendees with tools, techniques and advice on how to successfully engage with emerging open publishing practices in their own library.

ACCP Drug Information PRN announces Joyce Generali as recipient of the 'Distinguished Drug Information Practitioner Award'

Wolters Kluwer Health has announced that Joyce Generali, Director of Synthesized Drug Content, Clinical Solutions, Clinical Drug Information, is the recipient of the inaugural "Distinguished Drug Information Practitioner Award" by the ACCP Drug Information PRN at a recent meeting of the American College of Clinical Pharmacy. This award was established to recognise deserving individuals who have worked diligently to promote the practice of Drug Information.

International Journal of Business, Humanities and Technology invites papers for Vol. 4 No. 1

The International Journal of Business, Humanities and Technology (IJBHT) is inviting papers for Vol. 4 No. 1 which is scheduled to be published on January 31, 2014. IJBHT is an open access, peer-reviewed and refereed multidisciplinary journal published by Centre for Promoting Ideas (CPI), USA. While the last date of submission is January 11, 2014, an early submission will get preference in case of review and publication process.

Brill acquires scholarly publishing activities of HES & DE GRAAF Publishers

Scholarly publisher Koninklijke Brill N.V. has reached an agreement for the acquisition of all scholarly publishing activities of HES & DE GRAAF Publishers B.V (Houten, NL). The take-over will take effect on 1 January 2014. Under the deal, Brill will acquire an English language list of high reputation with book series in fields like book history and the history of cartography.
