EBSCO temporarily opens access to valuable education research database during government shutdown

Library resources provider EBSCO Information Services (EBSCO) has announced that it is making the government database ERIC available during the government shutdown. ERIC, the Education Resource Information Center, is typically available through the government website (http://eric.ed.gov/) as well as via EBSCO's EBSCOhost research platform. As a result of the shutdown, the government website is unavailable. EBSCO has therefore decided to temporarily open its version of ERIC and make it available at: http://www.ebsco.com/freeERIC.

Elsevier announces winners of 'Superheroes of Nursing' contest

STM publisher Elsevier has announced the winners of the second annual Mosby's Suite "Superheroes of Nursing" contest. The contest was designed to identify the real-life superheroes of the nursing profession. The winners will be publicly recognized at the ANCC National Magnet Conference in Orlando, Fla., October 2-4.

Burgundy Information Services and Canadian Science Publishing have signed an exclusive agreement to provide sales and marketing services to European markets including: UK, Ireland, The Netherlands, Scandinavia, Russia, Israel, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, Greece, Spain & Portugal. Canadian Science Publishing is the publisher of the NRC Research Press collection of journals.
