Thomson Reuters announces addition of Clinical Trials Intelligence to the Cortellis suite

The Intellectual Property & Science business of Thomson Reuters has announced the addition of Clinical Trials Intelligence to the Thomson Reuters Cortellis suite, a comprehensive information solution for drug discovery and development. Cortellis Clinical Trials Intelligence enables users to access and search information on more than 140,000 U.S. and global trials for biologics, diagnostics, biomarkers, medical devices and drugs targeting rare diseases.

Elsevier announces official collaboration with the National Natural Science Foundation of China

STM publisher Elsevier has announced its official collaboration with the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), the central governing body for science and technology funding in China. With an official memorandum of understanding (MoU) in place, Elsevier will undertake to provide services to NSFC to help the organisation optimise the utilisation and disbursement of research funds for projects.

New SPIE open access publishing program wins strong participation

SPIE, the international society for optics and photonics, has announced that an author-choice open access publishing program for journals, launched earlier this year, is gaining strong participation from authors and increasing the volume of freely accessible, peer-reviewed optics and photonics research literature as a result. According to Eric Pepper, SPIE Director of Publications, more than six times as many authors are choosing open-access publication in SPIE journals since the launch of the 'gold' open access program.

National Library of New Zealand reduces costs by moving Te Puna Interloan service to OCLC

The National Library of New Zealand is working with OCLC to improve interlibrary lending and reduce costs by moving the infrastructure of the national Te Puna Interloan network to the hosted version of OCLC's VDX resource sharing system. OCLC's VDX document delivery and management system fully automates the requesting and supply of books and journal articles for libraries that use the Te Puna Interloan system.
