Homerton University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is providing its healthcare professionals with access to a new, interactive online training solution from Elsevier that enables staff to improve patient care and record their annual learning. The Trust has implemented the Elsevier Clinical Skills online training tool following needs analysis carried out after the Francis Report.

BMJ and Lupus Foundation of America join forces to publish Lupus Science & Medicine journal

Evidence-based medical knowledge provider BMJ and the Lupus Foundation of America have announced a partnership to publish Lupus Science & Medicine, an open access journal dedicated to lupus. The journal will seek to provide an international focal point for clinicians and researchers across multiple disciplines.

University of Bucharest partners with Versita to publish Acta Horti Botanici Bucurestiensis

Academic publisher Versita has announced a new partnership with the University of Bucharest to publish Acta Horti Botanici Bucurestiensis. Acta Horti Botanici Bucurestiensis is an international scientific journal, published annually since the late 1950's. It covers research on all aspects of vegetation, plant, algae and fungi biodiversity, as well as biosystematics.

ARL membership elects ARL Board of Directors 2013-2014

The Association of Research Libraries (ARL) has announced that Carol Pitts Diedrichs, vice provost and director of university libraries, the Ohio State University, began a one-year term as president of the ARL on October 10, during the ARL Membership Meeting in Arlington, Virginia. She succeeds Wendy Pradt Lougee, university librarian and McKnight presidential professor, University of Minnesota. Lougee will continue to serve as a member of both the ARL Board of Directors and the ARL Executive Committee as past president.
