Elsevier collaborates with Qatar University to provide access to SciVal Experts

STM publisher Elsevier has announced its collaboration with Qatar University by providing access to SciVal Experts, allowing for effective management of researcher profiles and subject area expertise identification for future collaboration projects. SciVal Experts is a researcher networking tool which helps locate researchers within and across disciplines and institutions.

IHS and Springer expand partnership to deliver engineering and industry-specific technical knowledge

IHS Inc., a global source of critical information and insight, has announced an expanded partnership agreement with STM publisher Springer. This expanded agreement allows IHS to globally sell Springer's Engineering eBook Collection, Industry Collections and the SpringerMaterials database, including Landolt-Börnstein New Series, with a focus on the corporate researcher.

Wolters Kluwer completes disposal of French healthcare publishing activities to Galilée

Wolters Kluwer has announced that it has completed the disposal of its French healthcare publishing activities to Galilée. This divestiture is part of the broader Pharma divestment program originally announced in July 2011. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Thieme launches online resource for otolaryngology, Thieme eOtolaryngology

Medical and scientific publisher Thieme has announced the launch of Thieme eOtolaryngology, the premier online resource for otolaryngology - head and neck surgery that gives the global otolaryngology community unprecedented access to Thieme's entire otolaryngology collection. The site debuts with over 21,500 pages of book content, 34,500 images, 60 step-by-step procedures, 80 cases, 400 procedural technique videos, and an integrated search across Thieme's journal offerings.

Knovel on track for record year with the addition of eight new publishers

Knovel has announced that it is on track for its best year yet in bringing new publishers and adding content to the platform with the most recent addition of eight new partners. These publishers' collections expand and enhance Knovel's topic coverage in content subject areas, including marine engineering, civil engineering, software engineering (coming in October), earth science, environmental engineering, mechanical engineering and industrial engineering.

Université Paris Ouest Nanterre La Défense opts for Ex Libris Primo and SFX

Oxford University Press joins OAPEN-UK project

Academic publisher Oxford University Press (OUP) is joining OAPEN-UK, a collaborative research project exploring open access (OA) scholarly monograph publishing in the humanities and social sciences. OAPEN-UK is co-funded by Jisc and the Arts and Humanities Research Council, and is gathering data in order to help funders, authors, publishers and institutions make informed decisions on the future of OA monographs.
