ORCID releases first Public Data File

ORCID, a non-profit organisation that provides an open registry of unique identifiers for researchers, has released its first Public Data File. The move comes a year after launch of the ORCID Registry. The Public Data File contains a snapshot of all public data in the ORCID Registry associated with an ORCID record that was created or claimed by an individual.

SPIE announces 2014 launch of Neurophotonics journal

SPIE, the international society for optics and photonics, has announced that it will launch the new journal Neurophotonics in 2014, covering the optical technologies and methods driving profound advances in understanding brain phenomena such as electrical excitability, neuroglial partnership, neurovascular signalling, metabolic activity, and hemodynamics in health and disease. Authors are invited to submit articles beginning November 30, with publication to begin in early 2014.

The site showcases the often overlooked work of Medical Officers of Health (MOH), qualified medical practitioners who became some of the most influential agents of social and medical reform in the city.
