Thomson Reuters collaborates with Australian National Data Service to aid in the discovery of global data sets

The Intellectual Property & Science business of Thomson Reuters has announced a collaboration with Australian National Data Service (ANDS) to aid in the discovery of global data sets. The collaboration connects researchers to data repositories through the Data Citation Index, a single-point solution providing access to quality research data sets from multi-disciplinary repositories worldwide.

Frontiers launches new open-access journals - Frontiers in Earth Science and Frontiers in Environmental Science

Open-access publisher Frontiers, part of the Nature Publishing Group family, has announced the launch of two new open-access journals - Frontiers in Earth Science and Frontiers in Environmental Science. Manuscripts submitted to specialty sections in "Frontiers in" journals are peer reviewed by specialty associate and review editors. Specialty Chief Editors oversee subject areas across the 'Frontiers in' journals.

European Federation of Societies of Microsurgery now also affiliated with Thieme's Journal of Reconstructive Microsurgery

Medical and scientific publisher Thieme recently announced that the European Federation of Societies of Microsurgery (EFSM) is now also affiliated with Thieme's Journal of Reconstructive Microsurgery (JRM). EFSM represents a total of eleven European microsurgery societies and focuses on promoting education in microsurgery through courses and meetings as well as exchange programmes for microsurgeons in training.

Dr. Cynthia J. Burrows named new Editor-in-Chief of Accounts of Chemical Research

The American Chemical Society (ACS) has announced that Dr. Cynthia J. Burrows will assume the role of Editor-in-Chief of Accounts of Chemical Research, effective January 2014. Burrows, who currently serves as an Editorial Advisory Board member for the journal, is a Distinguished Professor of Chemistry and Department Chair at the University of Utah.

Harvard University Press partners with De Gruyter to re-release 2800 titles from its publishing history

To celebrate its 100th anniversary, academic publisher Harvard University Press is working with De Gruyter to make available for sale worldwide virtually all the books published since its founding. The 2800 HUP titles will be offered in ten separate subject-area packages that reflect the entire spectrum of the university press's catalogue.
