NFAIS webinar to focus on Ithaka S+R report Faculty Survey: Discovery, Scholarly Communication, and the Print to Electronic Transition

On December 5, 2013, the National Federation of Advanced Information Services (NFAIS) will hold a 90-minute webinar (11:00am - 12:30pm EST) that will look at the results of a recent survey undertaken by Ithaka S+R to better understand how these faculty attitudes and practices have altered over time. Since 2000, the Ithaka S+R Faculty Survey has triennially surveyed U.S. faculty members in their roles as researchers, authors, and teachers.

Thomson Reuters and Ural Federal University collaborate to advance global research impact

The Intellectual Property & Science business of Thomson Reuters has announced a commitment with Ural Federal University (UrFU) to create a map of the University's scientific research efforts in order to demonstrate the efficiency and global impact of its programs and scientists. The first phase of the project will focus on determining how the scientists of the UrFU and the institutes of the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences (UB RAS) compare internationally with scientists at competing laboratories, universities and institutes.

New report from ARL and Ithaka S+R provide answers to how digital collections are being sustained

The Association of Research Libraries (ARL) and the not-for-profit research and consulting group Ithaka S+R have released the Searching for Sustainability: Strategies from Eight Digitized Special Collections report. The report aims to address one of the biggest challenges facing libraries and cultural heritage organisations: how to move their special collections into the 21st century through digitisation while developing successful strategies to make sure those collections remain accessible and relevant over time.
