Thomson Reuters and the National Agency for Science and Technology Information (NASATI) of Vietnam have announced a strategic partnership to advance the initiatives of the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) in accelerating Vietnam's science and technology (S&T) development. NASATI is Vietnam's leading S&T information organisation.

Elsevier and Cerner announce agreement to integrate evidence-based clinical content into Cerner's PowerChart EHR

STM publisher Elsevier has announced a reseller agreement with Cerner to integrate Elsevier's evidence-based clinical content into Cerner's PowerChart electronic health record (EHR). Through this agreement, Elsevier's clinical content solutions will be available to Cerner's current and prospective PowerChart EHR clients.

Dr. Phillip E. Savage named new Editor-in-Chief of Industrial & Engineering Chemistry Research journal

The American Chemical Society (ACS) has announced that Dr. Phillip E. Savage will assume the role of Editor-in-Chief of the journal Industrial & Engineering Chemistry Research (I&EC Research), effective January 1, 2014. He will succeed Editor-in-Chief Donald Paul, who has served in this position since 1986 and will retire from the journal at the end of 2013.

The Alberta Library selects OCLC group catalogue as its provincial discovery tool

Computer library service OCLC has announced that The Alberta Library (TAL), a consortium of 49 public, university, college, technical institute and special libraries, has selected a group catalogue solution from OCLC as its provincial discovery tool. The revamped union catalogue, TAL Online, makes 25 million items available to Albertans.

NISO and UKSG release draft for public comment of a revision to the KBART Recommended Practice

The National Information Standards Organization and UKSG have announced the release of a draft for public comment of a revision to the Knowledge Bases and Related Tools (KBART) Recommended Practice. Building on the initial recommendations, the draft revision focuses on the more granular, complex issues that cause problems in metadata supply, including consortia-specific metadata transfer, metadata transfer for open access publications, and metadata transfer for e-books and conference proceedings.
