Elsevier partners with the Energy Institute to organise first Energy Systems conference

STM publisher Elsevier has announced its official collaboration with the Energy Institute (EI) in organising the first Energy Systems conference to be held from June 24-25, 2014 in London. Interested parties may visit the conference website (www.energysystemsconference.com) to submit an abstract and register as a delegate.

Patients and Carers gain access to over 300 Wiley journals

Publisher John Wiley & Sons, Inc. has announced that it will join patientACCESS, a new program which offers low-cost access to medical and scientific research articles to patients and caregivers. Six publishers are participating in the launch phase of patientACCESS.

Royal Society of Chemistry integrates new online metrics monitoring into its scientific journals

The Royal Society of Chemistry has integrated a new system for monitoring article-level metrics into a selection of its scientific journals. The metrics are provided by London-based start-up Altmetric. This partnership between the Royal Society of Chemistry and Altmetric will enable published authors and their readers to track mentions of their articles in five journals initially.

NALIS in Bulgaria selects Ex Libris' Rosetta digital preservation solution

Ex Libris Group has announced that the National Academic Library and Information System (NALIS) in Bulgaria has adopted the Rosetta digital preservation solution. The NALIS foundation comprises three most prestigious academic institutions in the country - the Bulgarian Academy of Science, the Sofia University, and the American University in Bulgaria, with the support of the America for Bulgaria Foundation.

CCC joins Gold Open Access Infrastructure program

Copyright Clearance Center, Inc. (CCC) has joined the Gold Open Access Infrastructure program, based in the UK. The aim of the program is to establish dialogue and agreement among all key stakeholders on technical infrastructure challenges and to promote consideration of improvements to the systems, standards, and metadata supporting open access academic journal publishing.

Versita to publish International Journal of Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering

Academic publisher Versita has announced a new partnership to publish International Journal of Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering. The journal, published quarterly in association with the Society of Naval Architects of Korea (SNAK), is the first journal from Asia to be included in Versita's collection of peer-reviewed open access journals.
