Elsevier and RSM in deal to provide RSM members with electronic access to peer-reviewed medical journals and reference book

STM publisher Elsevier recently announced an agreement with The Royal Society of Medicine (RSM) to provide its 21,000 members with electronic access to thousands of peer-reviewed medical and surgical journals and reference books. The RSM's decision follows a review of its library strategy, which emphasises making such information available electronically to meet the demands of its members.

Frankfurt Book Fair Fellowship Programme celebrates 15 year anniversary

This year marks the 15th anniversary of the Frankfurt Book Fair's Fellowship Programme. Platts launches Platts Market Data – Sugar daily data package

Energy and metals information provider Platts recently launched Platts Market Data – Sugar, a comprehensive, daily data package containing global price assessments and freight rates for raw and white sugar from Brazil, Thailand, Europe and other locations. Aimed at sugar market professionals, the end-of-day data feed features proprietary price references for break bulk and containerised spot cargoes of raw and white sugar, and associated freight rates, as assessed by Kingsman, the sugar pricing specialist unit of Platts.

Swets acquires Netherlands' leading Law content expert, Jongbloed

Information services company Royal Swets & Zeitlinger has completed the acquisition of Jongbloed, an expert in the supply of legal, fiscal and accountancy content. The arrangement will see Swets take control of the entire Jongbloed company, including both of its physical bookstores in The Hague and Leiden as well as its online stores www.jongbloed.nl and www.jongbloedjuridica.nl.
