Thomson Reuters predicts Nobel Laureates for 2013

The IP & Science business of Thomson Reuters has announced its 2013 'Nobel-class' Citation Laureates. Having accurately forecast 27 Nobel Prize winners since its inception in 2002, the annual Thomson Reuters Citation Laureates study mines scientific research citations to identify the most influential researchers in the fields of chemistry, physics, medicine and economics.

Elsevier's EduCode Competency Exams aid in hospital preparation and transition to ICD-10

STM publisher Elsevier has announced the launch of Elsevier's EduCode Competency Exams, a series of assessments developed to evaluate staff proficiency, aid in career development and identify appropriate education for employees in healthcare coding and clinical documentation improvement job roles. EBSCO and the Common Library Network in Germany partner to develop more options for discovery

Library resources provider EBSCO Information Services (EBSCO) and the Common Library Network in Germany (GBV) have signed an agreement to enable integrated access between EBSCO Discovery Service (EDS) and GBV's VuFind service. GBV is one of the biggest library services in Germany, serving over 250 academic libraries in Germany.

Serials Solutions and Jisc Collections' Knowledge Base+ announce new collaboration to improve library workflows

Serials Solutions, a ProQuest business, has announced a collaboration with Jisc Collections KB+ to improve library workflows by transferring data from KB+ to the Serials Solutions knowledgebase. This cooperative effort will keep current data from Jisc Collections up to date in the Serials Solutions knowledgebase, saving libraries time.

OUP plans Nelson Thornes transition for early 2014

Academic publisher Oxford University Press (OUP) has announced that Nelson Thornes will be formally integrated into Oxford University Press early in 2014. OUP, which is a department of the University of Oxford, acquired the educational publisher in January 2013. It has since operated Nelson Thornes as a standalone subsidiary.

American College of Physicians launches web-based, mobile-optimized clinical decision support tool for internal medicine

The American College of Physicians has released ACP Smart Medicine, a web-based clinical decision support tool developed specifically for internal medicine physicians containing 500 modules that provide guidance and information on a broad range of diseases and conditions. The clinical recommendations in ACP Smart Medicine are evidence-based and rated based on the quality of the underlying evidence. Information is continually updated through triggered updates with new, relevant content and guidelines.
