COPE holds European Seminar on publication ethics from student to professional

BioMed Central's in-house team of Biology and Medical Editors attended the Committee on Publication Ethics European Seminar in London. The theme was 'Publication ethics from student to professional', and the talks ranged from the role of institutions in investigating research misconduct to plagiarism at the student level.

Thieme publishes Latin version of 'Gold Standard Atlas of Anatomy'

Thieme has published the Atlas of Anatomy Latin Nomenclature, Second Edition. The resource is the Latin version of the latest edition of Anne Gilroy et al.'s Atlas of Anatomy, which became a bestseller by promoting the process of learning anatomy while providing art and clinical context.

CLOCKSS Archive to preserve LWW ejournals

The CLOCKSS Archive has announced that Wolters Kluwer Health is participating in the preservation of their Lippincott Williams & Wilkins (LWW) ejournals in CLOCKSS's geographically and geopolitically distributed network of redundant archive nodes, located at 12 major research libraries around the world. This action provides for content to be freely available to everyone after a 'trigger event' and ensures an author's work will be maximally accessible and useful over time.

APS partners with ACCUCOMS for shared representation in Europe, Turkey and MENA

Non-profit membership organisation the American Physiological Society (APS) has signed an agreement with ACCUCOMS for shared representation in Europe, Turkey and MENA. APS is devoted to fostering education, scientific research, and dissemination of information in the physiological sciences.

Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporation to implement NGL's Reach for Reading Common Core Reading program

National Geographic Learning (NGL), part of Cengage Learning, has announced that its Reach for Reading product, a comprehensive K-5 Common Core reading program, has been adopted for use by the Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporation (EVSC) in Evansville, IN. As the third largest school district in the state, EVSC will implement the program for use beginning in Fall 2013 and it will be used by students for at least six school years.

Vital Source Technologies, Inc., the e-textbook arm of Ingram Content Group company, and B.i. Publications Pvt. Ltd. have agreed to form a joint venture, Ingram-B.i. Pvt. Ltd., to launch Ingram's comprehensive VitalSource Bookshelf e-textbook platform to institutions in India. B.i. Electronic content delivery solutions provider Impelsys has entered into a partnership with DataLore Inc. in which the two companies will work together to offer branded eBookstores to schools and colleges located throughout the Caribbean region. De Gruyter presents new OA model for e-dition titles

Academic publisher De Gruyter has announced that with its new Open Access model, some 45,000 e-dition titles from the publishing house's backlist can be made freely accessible. Customers can purchase an e-book in the same standard as a work produced normally through De Gruyter's e-dition program for Euro 1,500.
