Elsevier launches new OA journal - Molecular Metabolism

STM publisher Elsevier has announced the launch of a new, open access journal, Molecular Metabolism, in affiliation with the German Research Center for Environmental Health (Helmholtz Zentrum München, Munich, Germany) and the German Center for Diabetes Research (DZD, Germany). Molecular Metabolism is devoted to the rapid publication of breakthroughs in mechanistic metabolism research.

ProQuest to digitise 70,000 volumes from BnF's collection of European books as part of Early European Books programme

Information resources and technologies provider ProQuest and the Bibliothèque nationale de France (BnF) in Paris are joining forces to expand access to the Library's rich historical treasures. As part of its Early European Books programme, ProQuest will digitise about 70,000 volumes from BnF's collection of European books printed before 1700.

Physics Research Promotion Center of Taiwan to join SCOAP3

The Sponsoring Consortium for Open Access Publishing in Particle Physics (SCOAP3) has announced that the Physics Research Promotion Center of Taiwan has expressed its interest in joining the SCOAP3 consortium, representing the contribution of Taiwan. Palgrave Macmillan announces OA option for monographs and Palgrave Pivot publications

Academic publisher Palgrave Macmillan has announced that it will offer authors and their funders the option to publish open access (OA) research across all publication formats. Palgrave Macmillan journal articles, monographs and Palgrave Pivot publications can now be made available with immediate open access upon publication via Palgrave Open.
