ARL releases pre-publication version of an article on The State of Large-Publisher Bundles in 2012

The Association of Research Libraries (ARL) has released a pre-publication version of an article on 'The State of Large-Publisher Bundles in 2012,' which will be featured in the forthcoming Research Library Issues (RLI) no. 282 (Spring 2013). In this article, authors Karla Strieb and Julia Blixrud report on the results of a recent survey of journal licenses in ARL member libraries.

Jisc Collections, Open Access Key to launch UK Gold OA article payments pilot

Jisc Collections has entered into an agreement with Open Access Key, an online payment platform for OA publishing, to run a 12 month pilot project, Jisc APC. The pilot will test the service's role in processing Gold OA article payment charges made by its member institutions.

BioMed Central launches a new journal Cancer & Metabolism

Open access publisher BioMed Central has announced the launch of a new journal Cancer & Metabolism with a selection of articles that highlight the altered metabolic pathways that drive cancer. The journal is edited by clinician scientists Chi Van Dang, Abramson Cancer Center, USA, and Michael Pollak, Segal Cancer Center and McGill University, Canada.

OCLC and Gale expand partnership

Library information provider OCLC and Gale, part of Cengage Learning, have agreed to make all Gale databases and archives fully discoverable through WorldCat Local, and to explore broadening discoverability of Gale collections through other applications available through the OCLC WorldShare Platform. OCLC and Gale have been offering access to some of Gale's most popular databases to mutual subscribers through the WorldCat Local discovery and delivery service.

Copyright Clearance Center and Amigos Library Services announce partnership

Licensing solutions provider Copyright Clearance Center, Inc. (CCC) has announced a partnership with Amigos Library Services. Amigos is a not-for-profit consortium of more than 800 US libraries across 22 states that provides access to the latest innovations and services, continuing education, vendor discounts, and professional advice to the library community.

Ingram adds new content access model to MyiLibrary e-content platform

Ingram Content Group Inc. has added a new content access model to its MyiLibrary e-content platform to provide libraries greater flexibility in e-book lending. Access Model, MyiLibrary's latest model, enables libraries to purchase a set of access credits for an e-book and lend it simultaneously to multiple patrons for a set cost, and lending period.

Brandeis University selects Ex Libris' Primo and Alma library management service

Library automation solutions provider Ex Libris Group has announced that Brandeis University has selected the Primo discovery and delivery solution and the Alma library management service. The University decided to migrate its library systems to the Ex Libris cloud environment to take advantage of the two solutions' tight integration and unified framework for the management and discovery of all resource types and collections.

3M and SirsiDynix in partnership to deliver eResource Central integration

SirsiDynix and 3M have announced their intent to integrate the 3M Cloud Library content into eResource Central, currently scheduled for release in Q1 of 2013. SirsiDynix' eResource Central seeks to deliver key features such as hit list availability, centralised sign-on and one-click downloads.
