Chinese full text English translations are now enhanced in Derwent Innovation

China continues to grow in importance both as a global market and as a source of the majority of the world's patent information. In 2017, 2.66 million Chinese patent documents were published (0.97 million utility model patents, 1.27 million invention patent applications and 0.42 million granted invention patents). Access to the best possible data contained within these documents is therefore essential to maximise the potential of the technology disclosed and minimise the risk of missing important developments or potential infringement situations.

NLM partners with Adam Matthew Digital to complete Medical Services and Warfare Digitization Project

The National Library of Medicine's History of Medicine Division recently worked with Adam Matthew Digital, a digital publisher of unique primary source collections from archives around the world, to digitise more than 12,000 pages of manuscripts from 15 collections held by the NLM. The NLM collections join a host of others from the British Library, the Library and Archives of Canada, and the UK National Archives, among other libraries and archives, in Medical Services and Warfare, a new online resource from Adam Matthew which explores multiple perspectives on the history of injury, treatment and disease on the front lines of modern warfare.

Fondazione Biblioteca Europea di Informazione e Cultura selects Ex Libris Rosetta and Alma solutions

Ex Libris®, a ProQuest company, has announced that the Fondazione Biblioteca Europea di Informazione e Cultura (European library of information and culture, or BEIC) has selected the Ex Libris Alma® library services platform and Rosetta digital asset management and preservation solution to more effectively manage the resources of BEIC's digital collections. The BEIC Foundation will be replacing its open-source software and migrating its current local installation of the Ex Libris Primo® discovery and delivery solution to a cloud-based implementation.

ASAM e.V. and SAE International sign memorandum of understanding for future collaboration

ASAM e.V. and SAE International have entered into a cooperative partnership to develop and provide standards for the automotive industry. The partnership aims to improve engineering processes and to make workflows more efficient. Duplicative standards are costly and counterproductive. In order to avoid that, both organisations have signed a memorandum of understanding as basis for their future collaboration.

Public libraries in Norway to add records of collections to WorldCat through Norwegian Library Center

The Norwegian Library Center (Biblioteksentralen SA) has selected OCLC to enable public libraries in Norway to load records of their collections into WorldCat, the comprehensive database of information about library collections. By adding their records to WorldCat, these public libraries in Norway increase visibility of their collections around the world and support a variety of network services, such as global resource sharing, collection evaluation and collection management.

Bernoulli announces Best Research Paper award

Bernoulli, a leader in real-time connected healthcare, has announced that the Editorial Board from Biomedical Instrumentation & Technology (BI&T), the peer-reviewed journal for Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI), has awarded a writing team from Bernoulli and Virtua Health with Best Research Paper of 2017 for their publication: 'Continuous Surveillance of Sleep Apnea Patients in a Medical-Surgical Unit.' The research paper was published in the May/June 2017 issue of BI&T.
