EBSCO Health launches shared decision making product - Option GridTM decision aids

EBSCO Health, a provider of evidence-based clinical resource tools including DynaMed Plus® and Dynamic HealthTM, has announced the launch of a shared decision making product, Option GridTM decision aids. The Option Grid concept was originally created by Professors Glyn Elwyn and Marie-Anne Durand in 2010 and supported by work and research done at Dartmouth College.

New open-access journal, Frontiers in Big Data, to lead big data revolution

Open-access scholarly publisher Frontiers has announced the launch of Frontiers in Big Data, a new open-access journal to lead the big data revolution. The peer-reviewed journal includes sections on machine learning, data privacy, data mining, artificial intelligence, and data-driven climate science, medicine and public health. The journal provides a centralised pool of cutting-edge knowledge in machine learning, cybersecurity, data mining and other data-related disciplines.

Future Science Group (FSG) has announced the acquisition of the life sciences journal, BioTechniques, from Informa PLC. SAE International and MaaS sign MoU for the creation of integrated mobility standards

SAE International, a global association committed to being the ultimate knowledge source for the engineering profession, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Mobility as a Service (MaaS) Alliance to support and foster collaborative efforts in creation of guidelines and standards for development of more integrated and seamless mobility services. The first SAE shared mobility standard will be 'SAE J3163 Taxonomy and Definitions Related to Shared Mobility and Enabling Technologies.'

AMS appoints Dr. Ward R. Seguin as new chief editor for the Glossary of Meteorology

The American Meteorological Society (AMS) has announced the appointment of Dr. Ward R. Seguin as chief editor of the Glossary of Meteorology, effective January 1, 2018. Dr. Seguin succeeds Mary Cairns, who served as the Glossary's chief editor from January 2013 through December 2017. First established in 1959, the Glossary of Meteorology is among the leading reference sources in meteorology and related sciences.

EOSC-hub and OpenAIRE-Advance collaborate to support Open Science and the European Open Science Cloud initiative

Two flagship EC initiatives, OpenAIRE-Advance and EOSC-hub, recently signed a collaboration agreement. The agreement solidifies the projects' ambition for Europe to become a global leader in digital and open science to ensure that scientists reap the full benefits of open data-driven science.
