Springer Nature publishes 500th OA book - Teaching Tolerance in a Globalized World

Springer Nature has published its 500th open access (OA) book, marking a major milestone in its book portfolio since the launch of its dedicated OA book publication programme in 2012. The 500th OA title to be published is Teaching Tolerance in a Globalized World (IEA Research for Education series) by Sandoval-Hernández, Isac & Miranda.

Call to publishers: Jisc digital archival collections group purchasing scheme PIN notice

Jisc is working in collaboration with publishers to make digital archival collections of primary source materials more affordable so researchers, teachers and learners can have access to a wider range of resources and libraries can achieve further efficiencies. They are currently running phase two of the Digital Archival collections group purchasing pilot from November 2017 to July 2018 with 4 publishers, to be followed by a framework agreement that will open up the buying model to a wider selection of publishers.

EKT and Public Knowledge Project announce strategic partnership

PKP has announced the establishment of a new strategic partnership with the National Documentation Centre (EKT) of Greece. EKT has been a major adopter and advocate for PKP's Open Journal Systems (OJS) and Open Monograph Press (OMP) both in Greece and throughout Europe.

EIFL extends agreement with Credo Reference

EIFL has signed a three-year renewal agreement with Credo Reference, an online reference database with authoritative content from over 700 e-book titles, covering major topics in the arts, humanities and sciences. The agreement, which runs until 2021, is available to library consortia and libraries in 37 EIFL partner countries.

The move to a public cloud, engineered by IT director, Neil Scully, and application architect David Orrell, signifies a new phase in the evolution of OpenAthens in its mission to remove barriers to knowledge and connect people around the world to information.
