British Ecological Society in partnership with John Wiley & Sons launches new international journal - People and Nature

The British Ecological Society (BES), in partnership with its publisher John Wiley & Sons, has announced the launch of a new international journal, People and Nature. People and Nature is an open access journal dedicated to publishing high-quality, peer-reviewed work from research areas exploring relationships between humans and nature. The journal will open for submissions in June.

Peer review information now available for online articles

It is now possible to access detailed information about the peer review process research published on IOPscience. In response to community feedback, a new peer review information module for online papers has been introduced. The module is displayed in the 'article information' section.

Open Science Projects collaborate on Joint Roadmap

A group of organisations building non-profit, open-source tools for scholarship and publication has joined with open-science researchers in a new collaboration to develop a Joint Roadmap for Open Science Tools (JROST). While open technologies and services are becoming essential in science practices, so far, there has been no holistic effort to align these tools into a coherent ecosystem that can support the scientific experience of the future.

International Journal of Applied Science and Technology issues call for papers

The International Journal of Applied Science and Technology (IJAST) is inviting papers for Vol. 8 No. 2 which is scheduled to be published on June 30, 2018. Last date of submission is May 31, 2018. However, an early submission will get preference in case of review and publication process. IJAST is an open access, peer-reviewed and refereed international journal published by Center for Promoting Ideas (CPI), USA.

University library members of the Canadian Association of Research Libraries jointly release 2016-17 expenditure data

University library members of the Canadian Association of Research Libraries (CARL) have jointly released their 2016-17 expenditure data for journal and database subscriptions licensed through the Canadian Research Knowledge Network consortium. The CARL Scholarly Communications Roadmap identified the need for more collective action toward greater transparency of licensing information among member institutions.

ARL Membership convenes in Atlanta for Spring 2018 meeting

Association of Research Libraries (ARL) member representatives, ARL Leadership Fellows, staff, and guests gathered in Atlanta, Georgia, on April 24–26, 2018, for the 172nd Association Meeting. The meeting was convened by ARL president Mary Ann Mavrinac, vice provost and Andrew H. and Janet Dayton Neilly Dean of the University of Rochester Libraries.
