Two OA journals from Chile join BioMed Central and SpringerOpen portfolio

Open access publisher BioMed Central and SpringerOpen have announced the publication of two open access journals from Chile, covering biodiversity and conservation. Biological Research and Revista Chilena de Historia Natural are the official journals of Sociedad de Biología de Chile. Biological Research joins BioMed Central's portfolio and Revista Chilena de Historia Natural is part of SpringerOpen.

EBSCO Information Services and Boopsie partner to provide a seamless research experience for mobile users

Library resources provider EBSCO Information Services (EBSCO) and Boopsie, Inc. have announced a partnership establishing Boopsie as an official Mobile Technology Partner. Boopsie will now be able to provide a more seamless research workflow within the Boopsie platform for the thousands of databases, e-books and journals available from EBSCO.

Three SAGE Reference titles honoured by Library Journal in their annual Best Reference feature

SAGE Reference resources continue to receive recognition for excellence, most recently by Library Journal in their annual Best Reference feature. Library Journal has selected three key SAGE/CQ Press titles to be included in its 2013 list. The annual Library Journal Best Reference list recognises the top reference titles that have been reviewed in the publication during the previous year.

Professor Marzio Nessi appointed new scientific director of the Journal of Instrumentation

IOP Publishing (IOP), a wholly owned subsidiary of the Institute of Physics, and SISSA have announced the appointment of Professor Marzio Nessi as the new Scientific Director for the Journal of Instrumentation, effective April 1, 2014. He succeeds the founding Scientific Director Professor Amos Breskin, who has led the journal since its launch in 2006.

BMJ adds open access gastroenterology title to its specialist journal portfolio

Global healthcare knowledge provider BMJ has added another open access title - BMJ Open Gastroenterology - to its burgeoning portfolio of specialist journals. The journal, which opened for submissions on April 3, will be published in partnership with the British Society of Gastroenterology, which already co-owns Gut and Frontline Gastroenterology, two of the 50 specialist titles published by BMJ.

Prof. Karl-Heinz Kuck and Prof. Angelo Auricchio appointed Section Editors of Arrhythmia & Electrophysiology Review

The Arrhythmia & Electrophysiology Review (AER) journal has announced the appointments of Professor Karl-Heinz Kuck and Professor Angelo Auricchio to the positions of Section Editor - Clinical Electrophysiology & Ablation and Section Editor - Implantable Devices respectively.
