Elsevier announces publication of six new books in Biomedical and Life Sciences

STM publisher Elsevier has announced the publication of six new books that serve the needs of researchers and academics with an emphasis on the translational level, including the new book Cellular and Molecular Pathobiology of Cardiovascular Disease edited by Monte Willis, Jonathon Homeister and James Stone. Topics covered in the six books are, among others, pathology, nutrition, molecular biology, drug discovery and cardiovascular research.

HIMSS offers guidance to HHS on Certified EHR Technology

In official comments submitted to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services' Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology, HIMSS provided recommendations in response to ONC's Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NPRM) for the Voluntary 2015 Edition Electronic Health Record (EHR) Certification Criteria; Interoperability Updates and Regulatory Improvements. HIMSS recognises this proposed rule as an opportunity to explore potential program improvement areas and potential scope minimisation, and provide multi-stakeholder feedback to ONC.

OCLC releases WorldCat Works as linked data

OCLC, the non-profit computer library service and research organisation, has made 197 million bibliographic work descriptions - WorldCat Works - available as linked data, a format native to the Web that will improve discovery of library collections through a variety of popular sites and Web services. Release of this data marks another step toward providing interconnected linked data views of WorldCat.
