NISO convenes information industry cross-sector leadership at New NISO Plus Conference

The National Information Standards Organization (NISO) has announced the launch of its new NISO Plus Conference. The conference is scheduled for February 23 - 25, 2020 at the Lord Baltimore Hotel in Baltimore, MD. The intent behind the new NISO Plus Conference is to integrate the thought-leadership tradition of the well-established NFAIS conference with the hands-on practicality of NISO. Recognising the value of the NFAIS Conference over 60-plus years, the NISO Plus conference will build on that value in new ways, celebrating the vibrant nature of today's information community.

AGU's journal Space Weather to transition to fully open access model

The AGU journal Space Weather: The International Journal of Research and Applications, devoted to the understanding and forecasting of space weather, will transition to a fully open access model with all articles accepted after that date accessible free of charge to readers, starting October 17. All issues of Space Weather will be made openly available in January 2020.

Prof. Debra Nestel named Editor-in-Chief for BMJ STEL journal

Professor Debra Nestel has been appointed as the new Editor-in-Chief of BMJ Simulation & Technology Enhanced Learning (BMJ STEL), one of more than 70 specialist journals published by BMJ. Professor Nestel will take up her post in October, succeeding Professor Nick Sevdali, who has been Editor-in-Chief since 2014.
