ConTech 2019 – Two important deadlines coming up soon

ConTech 2019 will be transforming content through data science, AI and other emerging technologies on December 5th and 6th at the Millennium Gloucester Hotel, London. Entries for the 'Not Poster Lightning Talks' closes on September 30, 2019. The ConTech Lightning Talks are a short single slide presentation to the entire conference delegation. A physical copy slide will be displayed throughout the 2 days in the Not Poster section of ConTech 2019 – in the networking and refreshments area. EBSCO Information Services complimentary Librarian places also close on September 30.

STM Board appoints Ian Moss as new CEO

The International Association for Scientific, Technical and Medical Publishers (STM) has announced that its Board has appointed Ian Moss as the organisation's new Chief Executive Officer. Moss who currently serves as Director of Public Affairs for the British Phonographic Industry (BPI) will take up the position in December 2019. Moss joins the organisation at a particularly exciting time, as new publishing models are introduced which alter how researchers publish and share their work.

Wolters Kluwer expands real-world AI solutions portfolio with the addition of a clinical natural language processing solution

Wolters Kluwer, Health has expanded its portfolio of real-world artificial intelligence (AI) solutions with the addition of a clinical natural language processing (cNLP) solution that enables healthcare organisations to unlock the value of unstructured clinical information. The solution, part of the Health Language platform, supports extraction of patient data found in free-text physician notes and patients' electronic health records to improve the quality of data across payer and provider organisations.

Ex Libris Alma and Primo achieve FedRAMP Authorization from the United States Government

Ex Libris®, a ProQuest company, has announced that the Ex Libris Alma® library services platform and Ex Libris Primo® discovery solution have been granted the United States Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP)'s Authorization with sponsorship from the Department of Health and Human Services, after a rigorous evaluation that demonstrated the security practices and controls of Ex Libris Alma and Primo meet the U.S. Government's security requirements for cloud services. Individual agencies can now expedite the procurement and use of Ex Libris cloud services.
