SAGE Publishing launches SAGE Research Methods reference resource

Academic publisher SAGE Publishing has launched SAGE Research Methods Foundations, an online reference resource on all aspects of research methods and the research process for the social sciences. The resource contains hundreds of entries written by an international roster of methods experts, such as psychologist Paul Stenner and sociologist Guillermina Jasso, each between 500 and 10,000 words.

Covenant Health taps Wolters Kluwer to standardise care with UpToDate Advanced and Lexicomp

Wolters Kluwer, Health has announced that Covenant Health, a 10-hospital health system based in Knoxville, Tennessee, has added UpToDate® Advanced and Lexicomp®, its evidence-based interactive clinical decision support and drug information tools. The regional healthcare network opted to expand its long time access to UpToDate at one hospital to all 10, as well as to approximately 100 clinics, spanning 23 counties in East Tennessee.

MDPI launches new functionality giving scholars the possibility to endorse and recommend articles

Open access journals publisher MDPI has announced the release of a new functionality giving the possibility for researchers and scholars to endorse, and formally recommend articles to their colleagues. This follows the implementation of the open source Hypothesis commenting tool, which has been available for all articles published by MDPI for over a year. Both endorsement and commenting are available for all previously published and forthcoming MDPI articles.

Latest issue of Research Library explores ethics of artificial intelligence

The latest issue of Research Library Issues (RLI) opens a conversation about the ethical implications of artificial intelligence (AI) in the context of knowledge production, dissemination, and preservation. AI is rapidly becoming ubiquitous. With so much underway in the field of AI, there is a need for research libraries to act, starting with clarifying AI ethics policies, principles, and practices. To frame this discussion, three individuals were invited to share their expertise and recommendations in this issue of RLI.

Portico archive now hosts content from three OA e-journals published by Veruscript

The Portico archive now hosts the content from three open access e-journals published by Veruscript – Veruscript Functional Nanomaterials, Cambridge Journal of Eurasian Studies and Journal of Intelligence and Terrorism Studies. Veruscript ceased operations in May 2019 and these three journals were no longer hosted by any online platform. Therefore, they have "triggered" and are available to the community via the Portico archive.
