GeoScienceWorld acquires Lithosphere from The Geological Society of America GeoScienceWorld (GSW), a non-profit collaborative and comprehensive resource for research and communications in the Earth Sciences, has announced the acquisition of the journal Lithosphere, formerly published by The Geological Society of America (GSA), a GSW partner society. Lithosphere will provide a unique publishing choice for authors in the geoscience community, achieved through an alliance between GSW and leading non-profit societies. Two directors-at-large were also chosen during this year's election: Dr. Polina Bayvel, University of London, U.K., and Dr. Gerd Leuchs, Max Planck Institute for the Science of Light, Germany. Karen will lead a new data analytics directorate as executive director, effective September 17. Karen joins Jisc from the Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA), with 22 members of her team. Jisc and HESA have a long-standing and successful relationship and the new directorate will build on existing services such as Heidi Plus and Community Dashboards to deliver business intelligence for HE providers, the public sector and charities.
