British Library partners with ProQuest to give patrons access to reader reviews, author bios, other key search data

The British Library is improving the performance of its online catalogue with Syndetics UnboundTM, a ProQuest enrichment service that helps libraries create an interactive search experience for their users. With more than 150 million items in its catalogue - including books, magazines, newspapers, patents, electronic files and more - the British Library is one of the world's largest libraries, housing copies of all publications produced in the U.K. and Ireland.

UC San Diego signs OA2020 Expression of Interest

The University of California San Diego has signed an Expression of Interest (EoI) to adopt the principles of Open Access 2020 (OA2020), an international effort to make all scholarly publications freely and immediately available to everyone by replacing the current costly subscription-based approach with transparent, sustainable funding models. By signing the EoI, the university indicates a commitment to advancing open access (OA) through many possible mechanisms.

Prof. Juan-Carlos Cano appointed Section Editor-in-Chief in Electronics

Professor Dr. Juan-Carlos Cano has been appointed as Section Editor-in-Chief of "Networks" in Electronics. His appointment is effective February 2019. Dr. Juan-Carlos Cano has been a full professor in computer engineering since 2011 and the Head of the Department of Computer Engineering at the Universitat Politècnica de València in Spain since 2012. From 1995 to 1997, he worked as a programming analyst at IBM's manufacturing division in Valencia.
