Oxford University Press and Barnes & Noble Education partner to expand inclusive access content on campuses nationwide

Academic Publisher Oxford University Press (OUP) and Barnes & Noble Education, Inc., a provider of educational products and services solutions for higher education and K-12 institutions, have announced a new agreement. Through this agreement, OUP eBooks will be made available through inclusive access models offered on campuses served by BNED nationwide through its Barnes & Noble College and MBS Textbook Exchange subsidiaries.

Karger Publishers acquires substantial minority shares of Quertle

Medical and scientific publishing company Karger Publishers recently acquired a substantial minority of the shares of Quertle, Inc., headquartered in Henderson, in a move to strengthen Karger's position as an innovative and reliable partner for the health sciences research community. Quertle will continue to develop and market advanced knowledge tools for companies, research institutions and publishers in the health sciences space. Karger will support Quertle in strategic product development, marketing and distribution.

Journal of Lipid Research names first cohort of junior associate editors

The Journal of Lipid Research has announced that its first cohort of junior associate editors will join in March. The move to recognise the expertise and contributions of assistant professors is the first initiative by the journal's new editors-in-chief, who took office in January.

Digital Science to provide Dimensions access to researchers at Kazan Federal University

Research technology company Digital Science has announced an agreement with the Kazan Federal University that will provide Dimensions access to users across the institution. Dimensions is a novel research insights platform designed to break down barriers to access and discovery. With access to Dimensions, researchers at Kazan Federal University can explore the connections between over 141 million grants, publications, clinical trials, patents and policy documents.

MDPI announces 1000 articles milestone for OA journal Electronics

Open access publisher Multidisciplinary Digital Publishing Institute (MDPI) has announced that its open access journal on the science of electronics and its applications, Electronics, has published more than 1000 articles and reviews since its inception in 2012. Electronics is now covered in the Science Citation Index Expanded in Web of Science and received its first Impact Factor of 2.110 for 2017, which corresponds to rank 113/260 (Q2) in the JCR category 'Engineering, Electrical & Electronic'.
