Lundbeck selects Elsevier's Reaxys and Reaxys Medicinal Chemistry to improve internal and external data integration and access

Elsevier, the information analytics business specialising in science and health, has announced that Lundbeck, the global pharmaceutical company specialising in brain diseases, has selected Elsevier's Reaxys and Reaxys Medicinal Chemistry (RMC) to support the ambitions of its research organisation and accelerate data sharing and mining. The current implementation will provide Lundbeck scientists with integrated access to vital chemical and biological information from the Reaxys and RMC databases, as well as internal Lundbeck data from a single, seamless interface.

Europe's open access Plan S unlikely to sway US policy, says Simba Information report

A coalition of European national research institutes' bold plan to divert the researchers it funds away from publishing results in journals that collect subscription fees would face a tougher path in the US. This was the consensus of a law and policy panel assembled February 7 by the Association of American Publishers at its annual professional and scholarly publishers conference, reports market research firm Simba Information.

Professor Sarah Reisman announced as first recipient of Dr. Margaret Faul Award for Women in Chemistry

Thieme Chemistry and the Editors of Science of Synthesis have announced Professor Sarah Reisman as the first winner of the Dr. Margaret Faul Award for Women in Chemistry. In her lab at the California Institute of Technology (Caltech), the American chemist is breaking new ground in the synthesis of natural products. The Dr. Margaret Faul Award for Women in Chemistry is presented for the first time and honours female scientists within the first 15 years of their independent career who have made a significant contribution to synthetic chemistry.

CRKN releases new MARC records for Canadiana Online collections

Canadian Research Knowledge Network (CRKN) has announced a new release of MARC records for the Canadiana Online collections. As of February 25, 2019 over 3,000 additional records are available for download, representing updates to the MARC records for Canadiana Online periodicals and the remainder of the Canadiana Online monographs.
