Elsevier's QUOSA and CCC expand access to compliant literature with integrated rights management

STM publisher Elsevier has announced that QUOSA, its literature management solution, and Copyright Clearance Center (CCC) have extended their relationship to support greater compliance in the use of full text articles within corporate or institutional environments. Using CCC's rights advisory API, QUOSA customers who are also CCC licensees can view their license rights directly from QUOSA at no extra cost to the user.

Taiwanese society and Springer to jointly publish journal in computational intelligence

STM publisher Springer has announced that it will publish the International Journal of Fuzzy Systems (IJFS), the official journal of the Taiwan Fuzzy Systems Association (TFSA), as of 2015. The cooperation will allow the journal to expand its global visibility in the area of fuzzy research. Prof. Wen-June Wang serves as the Editor-in-Chief of the journal.

BioMed Central's Open Access Advocacy Award recognises European Commission Vice-President for the Digital Agenda

Open access publisher BioMed Central has presented its Open Access Advocacy Award for 2014 to Neelie Kroes, the European Commission Vice-President for the Digital Agenda. Kroes has been the Dutch member of the European Commission for almost ten years and has been responsible for the Digital Agenda for the past four and a half years. During this period, she has brought the open access agenda to the forefront of the spirited discussion on the future of science and research in Europe.

De Gruyter set to publish natural sciences journal Zeitschrift für Naturforschung

Academic publisher De Gruyter has announced that it will publish the natural sciences journal Zeitschrift für Naturforschung (ZfN), starting in 2015. The journal was originally founded in 1946 by Hans Friedrich-Freksa and Alfred Klemm at the Tübingen institutes of the Max Planck Society (formerly the Kaiser Wilhelm Society).
