Elsevier launches new OA journal - Bone Reports

STM publisher Elsevier has announced the launch of a new open access journal - Bone Reports. As sister publication to the highly reputable journal Bone, Bone Reports will serve as an interdisciplinary forum for the rapid publication of research articles and case reports across basic, translational and clinical aspects of bone and mineral metabolism. Prof. Peter R. Ebeling from Monash University serves as the Editor-in-Chief of the journal.

ProQuest introduces new interface for reports in 360 Counter

ProQuest has introduced a new interface for reports in 360 Counter. As of June 23, current 360 Counter customers were able to access the new interface for e-resource usage reporting, based on the Intota Assessment platform. Over the next six months, customers will have access to both reporting interfaces, in order to provide some time to become familiar with the new Intota Assessment E-Resources interface. ProQuest will sunset the legacy reporting interface on December 6, 2014.

NLM Invites nominations for IHTSDO Standing Committees

As the US member of the International Health Terminology Standards Development Organisation (IHTSDO), the National Library of Medicine (NLM) is soliciting nominations of potential candidates for the four IHTSDO Standing Committees – Content, Quality Assurance, Implementation & Education (formerly Implementation and Innovation), and Technical. Nominations are due to NLM by COB August 4, 2014.

University of Toronto Libraries selects YBP Library Services as primary book supplier

YBP Library Services (YBP), the academic division of Baker & Taylor, has announced that the University of Toronto Libraries has selected YBP as its primary supplier of academic titles published in the United States and United Kingdom. The University of Toronto Libraries, one of the largest research libraries in North America and the largest library in Canada, selected YBP to provide them with books in print and digital formats appropriate to a large research library.

IDS to re-launch IDS Bulletin as a gold open access publication in 2016

The Institute of Development Studies (IDS) has announced that its journal, the IDS Bulletin, is to be re-launched in 2016 as a gold open access publication. The IDS flagship journal is currently published in partnership with Wiley Blackwell, but with the expiry of the current agreement at the end of 2015, IDS has decided to bring the Bulletin back in-house and make all content freely downloadable and published under a Creative Commons licence.

Birkhäuser acquires Restoration of Buildings and Monuments journal

The journal Restoration of Buildings and Monuments (RBM) will be published by Birkhäuser, beginning in 2015. Founded in 1995 by Prof. Folker H. Wittmann (formerly of ETH Zurich), RBM was acquired from the publisher Aedificatio Verlag.
