Elsevier Australia launches new nursing app for self-testing and easy revision

STM publisher Elsevier Australia has announced the launch of the first app in its Clinical Cases app series 'Clinical Cases - Fundamentals of Nursing'. This nursing app is purpose-designed for self-testing and easy revision. The app is compatible with Apple iPhone (optimised for iPhone 5), iPod touch and iPad and will soon also be available for android devices via Google Play.

Springer and Italian Society for the Study of Eating Disorders collaborate to publish scientific journal on eating disorders and obesity

STM publisher Springer and the Italian Society for the Study of Eating Disorders (Società Italiana per lo Studio dei Disturbi del Comportamento Alimentare - SISDCA) have announced a five-year collaboration to publish the quarterly journal Eating and Weight Disorders - Studies on Anorexia, Bulimia and Obesity, starting in 2013 with Volume 18. As the official journal of SISDCA, the journal will be available in electronic format on SpringerLink.

Two new scientists join Chemistry Central Journal Editorial Board

UNESCO announces new Open Access policy

The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) has announced that it will make its digital publications available to millions of people around the world free-of-charge with an open license. Following a decision by the Organisation's Executive Board in April, UNESCO has become the first member of the United Nations to adopt such an Open Access policy for its publications.
