Clinical and Translational Science Collaborative of Cleveland launch SciVal Experts community

STM publisher Elsevier has announced that the Clinical and Translational Science Collaborative of Cleveland (CTSC) at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine has launched their SciVal Experts community. SciVal Experts is Elsevier's networking tool designed to foster collaboration between investigators and promote multi-disciplinary clinical and translational research.

Drexel University partners with Thomson Reuters to implement evidence-based assessment strategy

The IP & Science business of Thomson Reuters has announced a partnership with Drexel University, an institution widely recognised for its focus on experiential learning, to provide an innovative solution to help the university make informed decisions about its productivity and benchmark status, scholarship and performance. Thomson Reuters and Drexel University will collaborate to launch the Faculty Portfolios project using two offerings from the Thomson Reuters Research Analytics suite.

American Chemical Society names Dr. William B. Tolman as Editor-in-Chief of Inorganic Chemistry journal

The American Chemical Society (ACS) has announced that Dr. William (Bill) B. Tolman will assume the role of Editor-in-Chief of Inorganic Chemistry in January 2013. Dr. Tolman is the chair of the department of chemistry at the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, and currently serves as an Associate Editor of Inorganic Chemistry.

Taylor & Francis to include Routledge journals in open access programme

Taylor & Francis' Open Select programme will include the majority of journals featured in the Taylor & Francis and Routledge portfolios from January 2013. The number of journals included in the 'hybrid' OA programme will more than double from 700 to over 1,600 titles.

BioOne, a web-based aggregator of research in biological, ecological and environmental sciences, and Dartmouth have announced the forthcoming launch of Elementa: Science of the Anthropocene, a new open-access publishing programme. Gale wins ISG Reference Award from CILIP for the second consecutive year

Gale has been awarded the Besterman/McColvin Award in the 'Outstanding works of electronic resources and e-books' category at the Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals' (CILIP) ISG Reference Awards for the second consecutive year. The Sunday Times Digital Archive, 1822-2006 has won the Besterman/McColvin Award in the 'Outstanding works of electronic resources and e-books' category and the National Geographic Magazine Archive, 1888-1994 was voted Highly Commended in the same category.
