Hindawi joins Transpose initiative

Open access publisher Hindawi has announced that all Hindawi journals are now included in the Transpose database, which brings together multiple journals' policies on peer review, co-reviewing, and preprinting, acting as a single source of easy to access policy information for authors and publishers alike, improving transparency. Transpose is a crowd-sourced initiative aiming to build a database of journal policies.

Ex Libris acquires resource-sharing solutions provider RapidILL

Ex Libris, a ProQuest company, has acquired RapidILL, the provider of industry-leading document-delivery and resource-sharing solutions. Developed by staff at the Colorado State University (CSU) Libraries, RapidILL's flagship product, also named RapidILL, serves more than 330 institutions, which benefit from a fast, cost-effective request and delivery service for interlibrary loans.

OAPEN and De Gruyter enable retroactive open access for ERC-funded publications

The OAPEN Foundation and De Gruyter have developed a framework agreement that outlines good practice for retroactive open access to books and chapters resulting from research funded by the European Research Council (ERC) under the 7th EU Research Framework Programme (FP7). The framework agreement between De Gruyter and the OAPEN Foundation supports authors by establishing compliance with the 'best effort' requirement to make publications open access.

AAMC names Dr. Laura Roberts as next Editor-in-Chief of Academic Medicine

The AAMC (Association of American Medical Colleges) has announced the appointment of Dr. Laura Roberts, as the next editor-in-chief of Academic Medicine, one of its peer-reviewed, scholarly journals. She will succeed Dr. David Sklar, a distinguished professor emeritus of emergency medicine at the University of New Mexico School of Medicine and a senior advisor and professor at the Arizona State University College of Health Solutions, who has served as editor-in-chief since 2012.
