Elsevier makes latest climate change research freely available via Mendeley

Elsevier, the global information analytics business specialising in science and health, is making over 5,000 subscription articles on climate change freely available from across its world-leading scientific, technical and medical journals. The articles will be available to download and read for a test period on Mendeley, the reference manager and academic social network that serves over 6 million researchers worldwide.

Springer Nature launches new collection of educational, standalone, peer-reviewed videos on SpringerLink

Springer Nature is launching a new collection of educational, standalone, peer-reviewed videos on its online content platform SpringerLink. Available from July, the videos will cover a wide range of content from demonstrations of surgical techniques to tailored lecture series and interviews with researchers. Content for the videos is created by academics and practitioners, many of whom have previously published in Springer Nature's journal and book portfolios.

WebMD acquires Frontline Medical Communications

WebMD Health Corp., an Internet Brands company and the leader in health information services for physicians and consumers, has acquired Frontline Medical Communications, a leading medical communications company and provider of digital, print and live conference events for the healthcare industry. Terms of the deal are not being disclosed.

Dr. Eric J. Rubin named Editor-in-Chief of the New England Journal of Medicine and NEJM Group

The Massachusetts Medical Society, publisher of the New England Journal of Medicine, has named Dr. Eric J. Rubin as the new editor-in-chief of the Journal and NEJM Group. Dr. Rubin is chair of the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health Department of Immunology and Infectious Diseases and the Irene Heinz Given Professor of Immunology and Infectious Diseases. The selection of Dr. Rubin was made after a worldwide search conducted by an international search committee. He plans to start in September.

National Library of Medicine and Medical Heritage Library sign three-year memorandum of understanding

The National Library of Medicine (NLM) has signed a three-year memorandum of understanding with the Medical Heritage Library (MHL) to promote free and open access to quality historical resources in medicine and the human health sciences. Under the agreement, the MHL will include digitised NLM historical materials and associated metadata in its free and open archive of historical resources.
