Voting Members of NISO approve new standardisation project, Criteria for Indexes Voting Members of the National Information Standards Organization (NISO) have approved a new standardisation project, Criteria for Indexes. This work, intended to become an ANSI standard to replace the Z39.4 standard that was withdrawn in 1997, will provide a modern approach to guidelines for the content, organisation, and presentation of indexes used for the retrieval of documents and parts of documents. Bibsam is the first research library consortium to join the pilot. The Agora, a term which denoted in ancient Greek an assembly place for various aspects of public life including intellectual exchange and debate, will be the place for the space weather community to discuss, evaluate and distribute non-traditional scientific output in the field of space science and space climate, such as public outreach papers and historical accounts. The new scholarly journal is student-driven, partially student-run and faculty-supervised. Its peer-reviewed articles include up-to-date research first-authored by current medical students, allied healthcare students, and medical residents and fellows.
