McGill Professors/MUHC RI scientists launch new Point-Of-Care Testing super collection on infectious diseases on ScienceOpen

Research network ScienceOpen has announced six new collections on Point-Of-Care Testing technologies curated and organised by a team led by Dr. Nitika Pant Pai, a tenured Associate Professor at McGill University in the Department of Medicine and a Research Scientist at the MUHC Research Institute, as active contributions to the mission of open science medicine research for a positive global impact in healthcare. Her trainees, Anna De Waal, Alexie Kim, Nandi Belinsky, joined her in curating this collection.

HemOnc Today launches new subspecialty publication, Cell Therapy Next

SLACK Inc., the publisher of HemOnc Today, has announced the launch of a new subspecialty publication, Cell Therapy Next. IOP Publishing expands journal portfolio with three new journals

IOP Publishing, the publishing company of the Institute of Physics, has announced that the first content has been published in three new additions to its journal portfolio - Electronic Structure, JPhys Energy and Plasma Research Express. The three journals were launched to cater to the needs of specific research communities.

Chemistry Central Journal to be renamed as BMC Chemistry, will join the BMC series as its first chemistry title

Chemistry Central Journal, a journal that has served the chemistry community as a trusted resource for more than a decade, will be renamed to BMC Chemistry in January 2019. The journal will join the BMC series as its first chemistry title. As BMC Chemistry, the journal will further strengthen the BMC series footprint in the physical sciences by publishing quality articles and by pushing the boundaries of open chemistry.

MDPI's Plants and Foods accepted for inclusion in SCIE

Academic open-access publisher Multidisciplinary Digital Publishing Institute (MDPI) has announced that two of its journals, Plants and Foods have been accepted for inclusion in the Science Citation Index Expanded (SCIE) in the Web of Science Core Collection, as well as Current Contents - Agriculture, Biology & Environmental Sciences. Meanwhile, Plants continues to be listed in BIOSIS Previews.

OCLC awarded IMLS funds to expand its National Leadership Grant project

Non-profit global library cooperative OCLC has received a $249,710 award from the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) to expand its National Leadership Grant project, Small Libraries Create Smart Spaces, to more small and rural public libraries across the US. In the first two years of the project, OCLC partnered with the Association for Rural & Small Libraries (ARSL) to guide and support 15 small public libraries in 12 states as they applied principles of design thinking to create space for social, active learning at the library.
