Next Einstein Forum partners with Elsevier to launch Scientific African, an open access multi-disciplinary journal

The Next Einstein Forum (NEF), an initiative of the African Institute for Mathematical Sciences (AIMS) has announced a partnership with Elsevier, the information analytics business specialising in science and health, to provide editorial expertise, infrastructure and a capacity building engine for the next generation of African researchers. A unique partnership between NEF and Elsevier will see the creation of a new pan-African, peer reviewed, open access publishing journal, dedicated to boosting the global reach and impact of research by Africans.

Registration for 2018 Editorial Manager User Group Meeting now open

BMJ to launch new nutrition journal - BMJ Nutrition, Prevention & Health

Medical knowledge provider BMJ will launch a new journal, BMJ Nutrition, Prevention & Health, in July 2018 at the 4th NNEdPro International Summit in Cambridge. Co-owned with the NNEdPro Global Centre for Nutrition and Health, the journal is dedicated to publishing high quality, peer reviewed articles that focus on diet, exercise and healthcare technology on health and wellbeing.

SiQ and PSI have released a new integration of IP Registry data to COUNTER and publisher usage reporting and analytics, significantly resolving the issue in attributing institutional usage to unknown or expired sets of IP ranges. Usage metrics are some of the most trusted and common measurements used to demonstrate the value relationship between authors, publishers, funders, librarians and researchers, however the provision of such measurements relies on the availability of associated data to match the usage to institutions.

Hearst Magazines appoints Richard Dorment as Editor-in-Chief of Men's Health

Hearst Magazines has appointed Richard Dorment as editor-in-chief of Men's Health, the global men's fitness and lifestyle magazine brand. Men's Health was acquired in January and is now part of Hearst Magazines' Men's Group, under Esquire Editor-in-Chief Jay Fielden, to whom Dorment will report.
