SPIE and Chinese Laser Press partner to launch new OA journal - Advanced Photonics

SPIE, the international society for optics and photonics, and Chinese Laser Press (CLP), sponsored by Shanghai Institute of Optics and Fine Mechanics and the Chinese Optical Society, have entered into a partnership for a new journal, Advanced Photonics. This will be a highly selective, open access, international journal, publishing innovative fundamental and applied research in optics, photonics, and related fields.

Frontiers and the University of Applied Sciences Upper Austria announce open access publishing agreement

Frontiers and the University of Applied Sciences Upper Austria have formed an open access publishing agreement. Under the terms of the Austria Open Access Publishing Framework Agreement, the University of Applied Sciences Upper Austria (FH Oberösterreich / FH OÖ) will cover article processing charges for eligible authors in any of the Frontiers journals.

SPARC Europe and Digital Curation Centre release an update to its analysis of Open Data policies in Europe

Open Data policy development in Europe is constantly evolving. In an effort to stay abreast of these changes on behalf of the community, SPARC Europe, together with the Digital Curation Centre (DCC), recently released an update to its analysis of Open Data policies in Europe. The report was first released in May 2017. This latest version has been updated to reflect Open Data policy changes that have surfaced between June and November 2017.

Journal of Emergency Medical Services partners with Take Heart America as official media partner

The Journal of Emergency Medical Services (JEMS) and Take Heart America (THA) have announced the extension of their strategic partnership and collaboration specifically for JEMS to serve as the official and exclusive media partner of the inaugural THA's State of the Future of Resuscitation Conference. The conference is scheduled for September 28-29, 2018 in Oakland, California, where experts from around the world will discuss a wide range of topics related to advances in resuscitation science and clinical practice.

HRB Open Research launches with its first articles

HRB Open Research, a dedicated platform for grantees of Ireland's Health Research Board (HRB), has launched with the publication of eight articles. All articles are freely available having been published using an immediate publication open access model, and will now undergo invited transparent peer review, post-publication.
