Society for Scholarly Publishing Annual Meeting focuses on Scholarly Publishing at the Crossroads

The Society for Scholarly Publishing (SSP) 40th Annual Meeting will be held at the Sheraton Grand in Chicago, May 30-June1, 2018. The theme for this year's meeting is Scholarly Publishing at the Crossroads: What's working, what's holding us back, where do we go from here? The SSP Annual Meeting includes timely and thoughtful keynote addresses and concurrent sessions featuring an international group of presenters from all areas of scholarly communications: publishers, service providers, librarians, and researchers.

London Book Fair 2018's Research and Scholarly Publishing Forum to discuss global trends and issues shaping the future of academic publishing

The London Book Fair 2018's Research and Scholarly Publishing Forum, scheduled for April 11, 2018 will tackle the global trends and major issues shaping the future of academic publishing, including the impact of Open Access and the future of peer review processes. The conference will be chaired by Anthony Cond, Liverpool University Press, and Niamh O'Connor, Biochemical Society. AAAS announces partnership with 2018 March for Science

AAAS, the world's largest general scientific organisation, will partner with the March for Science, a worldwide nonpartisan movement highlighting the essential role that science plays in understanding our world, improving our daily lives and informing policymaking in towns and cities across the globe. In addition to the March for Science rally on April 14 in Washington, D.C., more than 175 satellite marches are being organised around the world, offering supporters of science and scientists a chance to leverage the value of science in and beyond their communities.

Dr. Linda D. Bosserman named Editor-in-Chief of ASCO's Journal of Oncology Practice

The Journal of Oncology Practice (JOP), a publication of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO), has announced the appointment of Dr. Linda D. Bosserman as Editor-in-Chief of the journal. Dr. Bosserman is a recognised leader in cancer care delivery with a deep understanding of the issues impacting all types of oncology practices. She will oversee the development of each issue of JOP, working with its team of associate editors and editorial board to develop and execute the journal's editorial scope and vision.
