The Society for Scholarly Publishing (SSP) kicks off its 2018 webinar series with an in-depth look at the confusion surrounding current sharing policies and the challenges facing authors, libraries, and publishers alike. The webinar 'Sharing Policies: IRs, Author's Manuscript vs. PrePrint vs. Version of Record,' is scheduled for February 13 at 11 am to noon.

Intermountain Healthcare selects Elsevier's Via Oncology to provide Clinical Pathways Solutions for Intermountain's Oncology Clinical Program

Intermountain Healthcare, a Utah-based not-for-profit integrated delivery network of hospitals, clinics, a health plan and other medical services, has selected Elsevier's Via Oncology to provide clinical pathways for Intermountain's Oncology Clinical Program. Via Oncology's Via Pathways helps cancer centers demonstrate the value of their care to patients, referring physicians and payers, by developing and implementing clinical pathways in collaboration with its network of more than 1,500 US cancer care providers.

PLOS and Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory in deal to enable preprint posting on bioRxiv

Public Library of Science (PLOS) and Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory (CSHL) have announced an agreement that enables the automatic posting of research articles submitted to PLOS journals on bioRxiv, CSHL's preprint server for the life sciences. This collaboration between bioRxiv and PLOS empowers authors to share their work on a trusted platform before peer review, accelerating the pace of biomedical research.

Emerald announces winners of 7th annual Emerald High Usage Awards

Academic publisher Emerald Publishing has released the winners of the 7th annual Emerald High Usage Awards, listing the 20 global academic institutions that have received the highest number of eJournal downloads throughout 2017. The Emerald High Usage Awards celebrate the relationship between Emerald and each winning institution; all of which have access to a growing collection of over 300 journals covering business and management research.

Jisc launches second wave of digital collections group purchasing pilot

JISC has launched the second wave of its pilot which last year saved participating libraries £127,000 on purchasing digital archival collections. EBSCO is the final publisher to join forces with Adam Matthew Digital, Brill, and ProQuest, to be part of the innovative group-purchasing pilot. The second phase of the pilot provides libraries with reduced cost bundles of over 70 primary source collections across the four publishers for libraries to choose from.

NEJM launches redesigned website on Literatum

The New England Journal of Medicine (NEJM) recently relaunched the NEJM.org website on Literatum. The new website was redesigned specifically to enhance user experience, and includes streamlined navigation that makes content discovery faster and easier. The website was created by Atypon with Page Builder - Literatum's fully integrated design-and-build tool for creating and managing websites.
