Springer to publish two long-established ceramics journals - Interceram and Keramische Zeitschrift

Springer has announced that beginning March 2018 it will publish two long-established ceramics journals - Interceram and Keramische Zeitschrift. German-language Keramische Zeitschrift and English-language Interceram will supplement the Mechanical Engineering + Materials channel on the portal Springer Professional. The journals will further strengthen Springer Fachmedien's portfolio.

Wiley, the Austrian Academic Library Consortium and the Austrian Science Fund announce combined open access and subscription agreement

John Wiley and Sons Inc., the Austrian Academic Library Consortium (KEMÖ) and the Austrian Science Fund (FWF) has announced a three-year combined open access publication and subscription agreement. This transformative agreement will provide researchers and students at 22 institutions affiliated with KEMÖ access to all subscription journals published by Wiley. Corresponding authors from KEMÖ-affiliated institutions will also be able to publish unlimited open access articles in Wiley's hybrid journals at no charge to the author.

ProQuest launches long-term preservation initiative 'Dark Archive' with book content

ProQuest has launched a new initiative for the long-term archival storage of its digital content, creating a 'dark archive' that protects the investments of its library customers. The ProQuest® SAFETM (Secure Archives ForEver) service will ensure preservation and access to content purchased by customers.

OASPA endorses the Declaration on Research Assessment

The Open Access Scholarly Publishers Association (OASPA) has announced the formal endorsement of the Declaration on Research Assessment (DORA). Developed in 2012 at the Annual Meeting of the American Society for Cell Biology in San Francisco, DORA is a cross-disciplinary global initiative seeking to improve the ways in which scholarly research outputs are evaluated.

Cardiovascular Innovations and Applications journal accepted in the Clarivate Analytics Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI)

The editorial and publishing teams of the Cardiovascular Innovations and Applications journal have announced that the journal has been accepted in the Clarivate Analytics Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI). The ESCI was launched late 2015 as a new database within Clarivate Analytics' Web of ScienceTM Core Collection, in order to complement the existing Web of Science databases (the Science Citation Index Expanded, the Social Science Citation Index, and the Arts & Humanities Citation Index).
