Elsevier and Polish Universities Consortia Leader ICM in deal to provide nation-wide university access to SciVal

Elsevier, the global information analytics business specialising in science and health, announced its agreement with the Polish Universities Consortia Leader, Interdisciplinary Centre for Mathematical and Computational Modelling (ICM), to provide nation-wide university access to SciVal, Elsevier's analytics solution to track and measure research performance. Access to SciVal will enable university leaders and managers across Polish universities to analyse and visualise bibliometric research data for 8,500 research institutions across 220 nations.

SAGE Publishing to publish official publication of the Society for Vascular Ultrasound

Academic publisher SAGE Publishing has announced a new partnership with the Society for Vascular Ultrasound (SVU) to publish its official publication, the Journal for Vascular Ultrasound (JVU). A quarterly journal, JVU publishes original scientific and educational articles, case studies, book reviews, technical reviews, reviews of ultrasound principles, letters to the editor, and technical notes.

Karger Publishers participates in Google's CASA Initiative to enhance access for students

Medical and scientific publisher Karger Publishers has announced that it will take part in Google's Campus Activated Subscriber Access Initiative (CASA), enabling off-campus access to subscribed Karger content for university members. CASA is activated automatically when users are connected to the university network. To maintain this service, users have to reconnect to the university network every 30 days.

CARL and BCI sign agreement advancing research data management and digital preservation in Canada

The Canadian Association of Research Libraries (CARL) and the Bureau de coopération interuniversitaire (BCI) have signed an agreement that will see both organisations work together to advance regional and national issues relating to the data management and digital preservation needs of the Canadian research community. This partnership brings together the collective expertise, resources and influence from BCI member institutions and CARL's Portage Network to focus on building connections between research data management and effective digital preservation.

Ex Libris®, a ProQuest company, has announced that the University of Texas of the Permian Basin (UTPB) has selected the Ex Libris Alma® library services platform to integrate with the university's Ex Libris Summon® discovery and delivery service.
