Springer announces new impact factors for its journals

Following the release of the Thompson Reuters Journal Citation Reports® (JCR) for 2013, STM publisher Springer has announced that 26 of its journals have received a first-time impact factor (IF). That brings the total number of Springer journals listed in the report - including many that are published on behalf of the company's society partners - to 1,570.

Elsevier launches new Open Access journal - Neurobiology of Stress

STM publisher Elsevier has announced the launch of a new open access journal - Neurobiology of Stress. The journal will serve as a forum for original research and review articles focusing on the impact of stress on the brain, covering cellular, behavioural functions and stress-related neuropsychiatric disorders such as depression, trauma and anxiety.

ISA Transactions reports significant Impact Factor growth

The International Society of Automation (ISA) has announced that ISA Transactions: The Journal of Automation, dedicated to the science and engineering of measurement and automation, has earned its highest rating ever in a prominent scientific ranking of journal quality and value. The 2014 Thomson Reuters Journal Citation Reports® (JCR), a quantitative ranking, evaluation and comparison of journals, rated ISA Transactions nearly 40 percent higher than the previous year.

PubMatic appoints Fernando Narcio as Regional Manager, Latin America

CRL invites nominations for 2015 Purchase Proposal Program

The Center for Research Libraries (CRL) is inviting proposals for the 2015 Purchase Proposal Program. Many major microform sets and multi-volume print publications are too costly for individual institutions to acquire, and are not readily available through interlibrary loan. Each year, CRL purchases microform and published print collections nominated by member libraries. The deadline for FY15 Purchase Proposal nominations is September 30, 2014.
