Wolters Kluwer Health partners with Streamline Health Solutions to distribute Health Language LEAP I-10 claims analytics and mapping solution

Healthcare information provider Wolters Kluwer Health has partnered with Streamline Health Solutions, Inc. to distribute its Health Language® LEAP I-10 claims analytics and mapping solution to mitigate the risks associated with the ICD-10 transition. Streamline Health clients will use the Health Language solution to analyze potential DRG shifts caused by the ICD-10 transition and use that information to prioritise coder/physician training and drive CDI projects.

Taylor & Francis Online implements CrossRef's CrossMark service

Publisher Taylor & Francis has implemented CrossMark, the version and update identification service from CrossRef, on its journal platform, Taylor & Francis Online. The CrossMark service helps users to navigate to the most recent version of a scholarly document, such as a book chapter, journal article, conference paper, or encyclopaedia entry.

Thomson Reuters announces winners of Allicense 2014 Breakthrough Award for top pharma deals of 2013

The Intellectual Property and Science business of Thomson Reuters has honoured Amplimmune, Inc. and MedImmune for their work in pharmaceutical Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A), and Isis Pharmaceuticals and Biogen Idec for biopharmaceutical licensing with the Allicense 2014 Breakthrough Award for Deal of the Year. The winners were announced on April 29 after a public vote at 2014 Allicense, a prominent event connecting business development, licensing, and merger and acquisition (M&A) professionals throughout pharma, biotech and finance to discuss industry-wide challenges and collaborate on creating a roadmap for the future of pharmaceutical development.

Five Jisc member universities purchase Arkivum data archiving service via Janet Data Archive Framework Agreement

Jisc, together with Arkivum Ltd, has announced that five of its member universities, Queens University Belfast, Gonville & Caius, UCL, and the universities of Leeds and York, have purchased the Arkivum data archiving service via the Janet Data Archive Framework Agreement which was announced January 14, 2014. The five universities are the first to purchase the Arkivum service via the framework agreement, which enables fast and cost-effective archiving for research and education.

More than a third of contributors in Books In Print have an ISNI, reveals new Bowker analysis

A new analysis of Bowker® Books In Print shows that a full 33 percent of its contributors have the ISO-certified International Standard Name Identifier (ISNI) connected with their names and in use in the database. ISNI was created just over two years ago and has topped 8 million assignments, 2.33 million of which are represented in Books In Print, showing rapid uptake by authors and other contributors.

NISO and OAI publish ResourceSync Framework Specification - a new American National Standard for the Web

The National Information Standards Organization (NISO) and the Open Archives Initiative (OAI) have announced the publication of the ResourceSync Framework Specification - a new American National Standard for the Web detailing various capabilities that a server can implement to allow third-party systems to remain synchronized with its evolving resources. The ResourceSync joint project, funded with support from the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation and Jisc, was initiated to develop a new open standard on the real-time synchronization of web resources.

ALA Office for Diversity extends deadline for research grant proposals

The American Library Association (ALA) Office for Diversity has extended its deadline for proposals for its 2014 Diversity Research Grants from April 30 to May 16, 2014. Applicants must be current ALA members, and 2014 proposals may concentrate on any diversity topic that addresses critical gaps in the knowledge of diversity issues within library and information science, including the recruitment and promotion of diverse individuals within the profession or the provision of library services to diverse populations.
