Thomson Reuters marks 50 years of Scientific Citation Indexing in Web of Science

Elsevier unveils optimised mobile version of ScienceDirect

STM publisher Elsevier has announced the launch of an optimised mobile version of ScienceDirect, its leading full-text scientific database. The updated mobile version of ScienceDirect now allows researchers to read journal articles on mobile devices through a specifically designed interface offering high readability and a streamlined page layout.

Evidence-based solutions used in hospitals now available to nursing education

Healthcare information provider Wolters Kluwer Health has announced that Lippincott Advisor and Lippincott Procedures, two of the most popular healthcare information products used by practicing clinicians in hospitals today, are now available for nursing schools to provide to faculty and students. Nursing colleges, universities and schools can now access regularly updated, evidence-based information on diseases and conditions, signs and symptoms, treatments, diagnostic tests, drugs, and clinical skills and procedures through the Lippincott Advisor and Lippincott Procedures platforms.

Copyright Clearance Center names winners of its Conference Scholarship Program for Academic Librarians

Global licensing and content solutions organisation Copyright Clearance Center, Inc. (CCC) has named the four winners of its Conference Scholarship Program for Academic Librarians. Each of the winners received a travel stipend of $1,500 to attend the ALA Annual Conference June 26 – July 1 in Las Vegas. Applicants are full-time, permanent staff academic librarians employed by US-based academic institutions of higher education.

TIB launches AV portal for Science

The new TIB|AV Portal by the German National Library of Science and Technology (TIB) in Hannover recently went online. More than 1,800 quality-tested scientific films from the realms of engineering, architecture, chemistry, physics, mathematics and computer science are now available at av.getinfo.de. The AV Portal combines the easy, legally watertight publishing of scientific films with professional quality testing, and preserves cultural heritage thanks to digital preservation.

Lublin Virtual Library to implement Ex Libris Primo

ALEPH Polska Ltd., the exclusive distributor of Ex Libris solutions in Poland, has announced that the partners of the Lublin Virtual Library project have opted for the Primo® discovery and delivery solution and the SFX® OpenURL link resolver. Texas students gain access to Gale research databases

Gale, part of Cengage Learning and a publisher of research and education resources for libraries, schools and businesses, and the Texas State Library and Archives Commission have a contract to provide access to Gale research databases to all public school libraries throughout the state. More than 5 million Texas public school students in more than 9,000 schools will have online access to 15 Gale databases and a collection of ebooks from Gale Virtual Reference Library.
